Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Quinton Dial took a cheap shot at Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray during an Alabama interception return of a pass by Murray during the second quarter of Saturday's SEC championship game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Murray saw Dial coming at him at the very last second, but it was too late to avoid getting crushed by Dial with a hit that would most likely result in a fine if he were playing in the NFL.  Fortunately, Murray was OK. • If Georgia put a hit on McCarron like that, hell would have broke loose, and there definitely would have been a flag. Referees have a habit of looking away when Alabama penalizes. Georgia did not get penalized more because of penalties made. The officials know they would get hell if Georgia won the game. It's all about money. The gambling industry made a fortune because Alabama didn't beat the line and the gambling business will make a big fortune with Notre dame and Alabama in the NC. This sport is getting worse than professional boxing.
  • Dievick- you must have your head in the sand if you believe what you wrote. "Georgia didn't get penalized more because of penalties made"??? You must be one of those fans that has to blame everyone for your losses and it never has anything to do with your team getting beat on the field if play. If you watched the game there were at least 5 penalties that the refs missed against Ga. How about the personal foul against bama for the push? I'm pretty sure that right hook that preceded it should have been called. Or the pass interference call that was waived off when the ball was mysteriously "tipped?" Guess what it those calls were not a conspiracy against bama it's just football. Refs miss calls and it typically evens out though out the course of the game/season. You win some you lose some. Well you lost but not because of the regs, it just happens that alabama is better than Georgia. Suck it up and take it like a man.
  • You forgot to mention Lacy's TD that was called a fumble.
