Marquis Maze has been making an outsized contribution for Alabama. The second-ranked Crimson Tide's diminutive star is easily leading the team in receiving and is one of the Southeastern Conference's top punt returners. Maze has been the No. 2 target behind Atlanta Falcons rookie Julio Jones the past two seasons, but has thrived as the go-to receiver. He's third in the league in catches per game, with 31 receptions for 355 yards. Tailback Trent Richardson is No. 2 on the team with 13 catches and 149 yards. Maze caught a career-high nine passes last weekend against Vanderbilt. Coach Nick Saban says Maze is a different type of player than the bigger Jones, but says he's got ''a little bit of running back in him.'' Alabama plays at Mississippi on Saturday.
