Lee Corso's Mascot Head picks on College GameDay in 2012 have taken that impressive step from "cute sideshow tradition" to "theatrical production complete with dancing cheerleaders and live animals." In fact, I'm sure a few million dollars of ESPN's budget has been set aside this year for the use of live animals on GameDay alone. It's become...
The ESPN College GameDay crew was on location at the University of Oregon Saturday, and analyst Lee Corso picked Oregon to defeat Stanford in Saturday's game. Corso put on the head of the Oregon Duck mascot costume, as he traditionally does with the school of the team he picks. but then tried to take things to the next level when he was handed a live duck.

That hurts. That really hurts. Watching a national championship slip through the fingers of your college football team as the blood slips away from your body is just about as painful an experience as you can have in sports. There is a multitude of talking points and controversy and angles to analyze, scenarios to address, and for some of us, hair to pull out from Stanford'...
At the University of Nike on Saturday in overtime on national TV in primetime, the peak of this multi-billion-dollar college football business was coming down on a freshman quarterback, Marcus Mariota. He turned 19 a few weeks ago.
He botched it, and then the field-goal kicker missed, too, allowing Stanford to beat No. 2 Oregon 17-14. On a night when BCS No. 1 Kansas State was exposed...
Saturday night, it rained in Autzen Stadium.
For the second November in a row the Ducks' hope of a second appearance in the national championship game ended with missed field goals, missed blocks and loose footballs that bounced the other way.
Stanford's quick, physical defensive front didn't need a replay review to defeat Oregon at the line of scrimmage. The Ducks...

It seemed nothing could slow down the Oregon Ducks this season. Steamrolling opponents with a near 55 points per game average and an offense that averaged 562 yards per game, the Ducks cruised to a 10-0 record and the No. 2 BCS ranking, putting themselves three wins away from a shot at the BCS Championship Game. All of that changed on Saturday night.

The Oregon Ducks just got beat. They didn’t give it away, weren’t screwed by the refs, and Alejandro Maldonado isn’t to blame.
As that Stanford kick sailed through the uprights at the end of Saturday night’s overtime disappointment, frustration over what could’ve been fell from the sky like seemingly every important field goal attempt Chip Kelly’s Ducks have needed...
UCLA has already clinched a spot in the Pac 12 championship game for a second straight season, and this year they did so without the need for an asterisk. A season after representing the Pac 12 South in the conference championship game because USC was ineligible for postseason play, the Bruins surprised many by winning the outright Pac 12 South Division this season following a...
