Found November 10, 2012 on Throw The Flag:
PLAYERS: Matt Elam
TEAMS: Florida Gators
Louisiana-Lafeyette is taking on the Florida Gators and they are giving them a run for their money. The ULL wide receiver was a few yards short of a first down on a 2nd down play and Matt Elam nailed the WR with a late hit that not many people would question. The referee than came over and threw a penalty flag directly at a Pop Saunders who caught the flag and threw it away. ULL is looking for the upset against the Florida Gators. You can bet Will Muschamp, Brent Pease, and Dan Quinn are not happy with their squad right now. [SEC Network]

Florida Gator's Matt Elam with a horribly late hit vs. ULL

The Florida Gators had a huge brain fart on Saturday and almost blew a game that should have been a cake walk.  Louisiana-Lafayette came out firing on all cylinders, and if it weren’t for the Gators blocking a punt and returning it for a touchdown with two seconds left.  This late hit was the game in a nutshell; the Gators making horrible plays and decisions and ULL capitalizing...

Enter Brissett, who had not thrown a pass in a game since the season opener Sept. 1 against Bowling Green. To get him in...

Playmaking ability of Purifoy shines again

Loucheiz Purifoy’s eyes lit up when he heard the call. While walking in front of the line of scrimmage and stalking the punt protection of Louisiana, the sophomore cornerback heard the word bounce out of each Florida player’s mouth — ‘BLACK.’ It’s the word Purifoy always wants to hear before the ball is snapped because it means he can use his aggression to his advantage.

No. 10 Florida, Georgetown embrace unique opener

One of the first things Florida coach Billy Donovan did upon boarding the USS Bataan was ask about touring the gun turret. Forget the wind, the open-air backdrop, the chilly temperatures and potential court condensation. This was bigger than basketball, and Donovan knew it. ''To be on this ship, sharing a moment like this, means more than I can ever express,''...

Defense propels win in season opener

The Gators didn’t waste time putting their second attempt at a season opener out of reach. Florida put together multiple scoring runs in the first half, but it was the defense that stole headlines and changed records. The Gators allowed just nine first-half points, their fewest ever allowed in a half in the shot clock era while cruising to an 84-35 win over Alabama State.
