I really don’t know what to say about this latest example of pure insanity when it comes to fans and sports. Watching, playing and writing about sports since the time I was five, I thought that maybe, just maybe, I had almost seen it all. Gene Chizik is the head football coach for the Auburn Tigers. He and his Tigers are struggling this season, and many are calling for his job. Keep in mind, this is the same coach who led Auburn to a BCS National Championship less than two years ago. Now, after a bad season, as well as having to watch the Alabama Crimson Tide win another title, the Tigers’ fans have had it with Chizik. Even though he reportedly has a top notch recruiting class coming in for 2013, the fans have asked for his termination.
Of course, when I say that they hav...
