It was two and half years ago, Ohio State Buckeyes school president E. Gordon Gee took a swipe at smaller schools that were vying for a spot in the BCS discussion by pointing to their lack of difficult scheduling. He cited that B1G teams played a much more difficult schedule each and every week. His comment was very demeaning to schools like Boise St and TCU at the time, and not exactly honest “Well, I don’t know enough about the X’s and O’s of college football,” said Gee, formerly the president at West Virginia, Colorado, Brown and Vanderbilt universities. “I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it’s like murderer’s row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day. While the conference schedule was arguably tougher, it wasn’t as if the B1G wasn’t stuffing their out-of-conference with the most difficult opponents each week.
