Monday before the opening game is always like Christmas for those of us covering college football teams, mainly because we sit in anticipation of the release of depth charts like kids waiting for their parents to get up to open presents under the tree.
Well, the first Badgers depth chart was released just a bit ago and there were a few surprises contained within it.

No Darius Hillary on the two deep at cornerback is the biggest surprise of any on this list. In his place will be true freshman Sojourn Shelton. Shelton will line up with Peniel Jean opposite of him and will be backed up by fellow incoming freshman Jakkarie Washington.
The fact that Hillary isn't even on the two deep brings up an interesting question, one I'm sure we'll get answered when Andersen steps to the table at 12:30pm CT for his ...

Welcome back…(and to those newcomers…welcome) to the 8th straight season I will be boldly going where many, many people go on a regular basis….and that is predicting the outcome of Big Ten football games. Over the previous seven seasons, I have amassed a 489-172 (73.2%) record. It has dipped in the last few years, but that..just like many other things in the Big Ten..I will...
MADISON, Wis. -- Gary Andersen has been the head football coach at Wisconsin for more than eight months now. During that time, he has hired seven new coaches, recruited dozens of players, moved into a new house with his wife, Stacey, led 15 spring practices and 24 of 28 fall practices.
He has injected his own beliefs into an already-successful program and spent considerable time...
Spend five minutes, five hours, or five days around Wisconsin football head coach Gary Andersen and you're likely to come away with the same impression - this guy is a cool customer and nothing seems to get him off his game. Now that the first game of his tenure at the helm of the Badgers is fast approaching, don't expect that to change at all. In fact, expect more of the...
The new coach of the Wisconsin Badgers, Gary Andersen is already a flop. Not on the football field, but in the swimming pool. Check it out!

Point guard Traevon Jackson scored eight points in overtime to help the University of Wisconsin push past A-Game Hoops 113-105 on Monday afternoon at St. Michael's College in Toronto.
With the victory, Wisconsin closed its five-game Canadian exhibition tour 4-1, winning four straight games following a loss to Carleton University.
Wisconsin beat A-Game Hoops 88-76 two days earlier...
Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen sees the competition for the quarterback job just like those for any other position.
He's not going to make a big deal over who the 23rd-ranked Badgers settle on.
No extra fuss, no fanfare. The plan is to make the pick for starter public between either Joel Stave or Curt Phillips when Wisconsin jogs on to the field to host Massachusetts in the...
Game week has finally arrived for college football and the University of Wisconsin, which will begin a new era under Gary Andersen and the journey toward a fourth straight Big Ten championship. Badger Nation breaks down the ’13 Badgers.
A 4-1 trip is not bad at all.
After the first blip, against a team that knocked off both TCU and Towson along with taking Syracuse to overtime, Wisconsin settled down and overall had a nice trip.
Everyone on the team got some decent minutes and Bo was able to see guys play in different situations. It would have been nice to win all five, but the experience is even better...

First off, I want to apologize for not having a Beyond the Box for Saturday’s game. Once the regular season kicks off and there are multiple ways to get a box score, it’ll all be good.
With that out of the way, how about that game last night? I hope you were able to see at least some of it, because it was a very nice production and...
