Safety Robert Lester said after the Tennessee game that Alabama won't find its identity until the end of the season. That may be, but as of right now, this team is showing that being balanced on both sides of the ball will be a part of it.

Well it's time to start these again, I guess. As always, I wait until after the 8th week of the season so that we have a good grasp on where most teams are by this point in the season. Of course there are teams like Alabama and Mississippi State who still haven't really played anybody too tough, but we can at least start a little educated guessing. As far as Auburn is concerned...
Here’s the latest photo that’s making the internet rounds in the college football world.

The Heisman Trophy hype for Alabama starting quarterback A.J. McCarron continues to heat up. One place you won't hear it coming from though is from the mouth of McCarron and Bama's head football coach, Nick Saban.
"AJ has played very, very well for us," he said. "He hasn't turned the ball over, makes a lot of good choices and decisions."
Ordinarily, holding a team to 183 total yards is a good recipe for success. Ordinarily, allowing 55 points is not. Both of the teams that accomplished these feats lost on Saturday, and both losses are equally damaging. That’s proof that sometimes it doesn’t matter how you get there.South Carolina’s defense limited Florida to fewer than 100 passing and fewer than 100 yards...
Alabama head coach Nick Saban discussed Mississippi State, his young breakout stars Amari Cooper and T.J. Yeldon, and his mother's carrot cake at his weekly Monday press conference.
Two true freshmen--wide receiver Amari Cooper and running back T.J. Yeldon--stole the show Saturday night, combining for 291 yards and four touchdowns on 22 touches in No. 1 Alabama's 44-13 win over Tennessee in Neyland Stadium.
For the first time this year, Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley was NOT selected by the Crimson Tide coaches as one of the players of the week. So when is a negative news? When the leading tackler and the man who made a key interception that led to a touchdown and had a tackle for loss doesn’t merit the list.
Notebook: On the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday, Alabama's Nick Saban discussed what's different about AJ McCarron this year and his opinion on the 2013 SEC schedule, while Mississippi State's Dan Mullen called this weekend's matchup vs. the Tide a “championship-caliber game.”
The Alabama Crimson Tide are once again the No. 1 team in the latest release of the 2012 BCS Standings, much the same as they are in the AP Top 25 as well as the Discover Fan Loyalty Poll. Alabama is the top team coming off of another SEC Blowout against the Tennessee Volunteers, but do they deserve to remain as the No. 1 team in the BCS rankings?
I predicted that the Crimson Tide...

Darius Paige has dealt with rumors surrounding his recruitment since he transferred high schools from Florida to Alabama earlier this season. But months later, the Crimson Tide commit is all smiles as he helps lead the Foley (Ala.) Lions to the playoffs.
