On a defensive line that boasts plenty of talent, sophomore Michael Bennett has emerged as solid contributor for the Buckeyes. A taekwondo black belt, Bennett has shown plenty of flexibility in his time at Ohio State.

It is an interesting period in Ohio State Football. With a new coach and no hopes of a postseason this year this is a season of for the Buckeyes.
But a talented young team comes back ready to prove itself, and set the stage for the future. With only less than a month until the season starts practice has begun and the excitement is growing.

The first day of full-squad training camp Monday allowed Urban Meyer his first chance to have the whole 2012 Ohio State football team together. For Meyer, it wasn't just about his own return or his shiny new toys and their shiny silver helmets. It was about what his toy collection might look like a Christmas -- er, Signing Day -- or two from now.
One player projected to be a breakout star in 2012 is Ohio State weakside linebacker Ryan Shazier, who turned heads one year ago as a true freshman. Knowing how much he's needed this year, Shazier undertook an impressive workout regime this summer and appears ready to live up to the billing.
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer scoffed at the fact that the Buckeyes leading wide receiver last year had only 14 catches. Meyer, however, has been blunt when describing that stat as unacceptable.
