Three weeks into the 2013 season and teams from the Big Ten saw a big shocker, and almost HUGE shocker and a few dominate performances this past Saturday. But, before Purdue takes the conference’s first foray into league action when they travel to Madison to take on the Badgers, let’s take a quick look back on how the B1G did last week.
Nebraska vs. No. 13 UCLA
This was a tough game for UCLA to get ready for. Bruins’ wide receiver Nick Pasquale died in a car crash the week leading up to the Nebraska game. Both teams honored Pasquale during the game as a result. When things got kicked-off, Nebraska took early control and dominated the first half going up 21-7 midway through the second quarter. But that was all the scoring the Black Shirts would do as UCLA stormed back and finished the game on a 41-0 streak and cruised to a 41-21 victory on the road.
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini came under fine since the defeat when a voice recording capture two years ago was now released of Pelini usi...

Urban Meyer’s oldest daughter, Nicki, has been dating a Georgia Tech football player for at least the past year, but somehow that escaped me until now. Nicki Meyer turns 23 on Friday (happy early birthday, Nicki!), and she tweeted about receiving a surprise birthday present from her boyfriend, Corey Dennis: Best birthday surprise EVER. Thank […]
ANN ARBOR -- Brady Hoke didn't take long to show Michigan what he thought of their performance Saturday against Akron.
When the players showed up Sunday, expecting a usual light practice to go along with watching game film, they got an unpleasant surprise.
"We went out and practiced with helmets and shoulder pads, the whole thing," Hoke said. "I wouldn't...
Can you believe what has happened to our little conference since I last contributed to all of you wasting your valuable work time?..Bo Pelini jumped into the deep end of the pool by essentially telling Husker great Tommie Frazier that he didn’t need his support?…oh..what started that was a recording of Pelini allegedly from a couple of years ago bashing Nebraska fans after a...
Considering that the Michigan Wolverines and San Fransisco 49ers coached by Brady Hoke and Jim Harbaugh respectively, underperformed considerably this weekend, and, as a result of some recent comments from the Wolverine nation being posted around the inter-webs as a result, we want to know:
If anything was possible…Who would you rather have right now as coach of the University...
Multiple question’s surrounded the Ohio State Football team’s first road game of the season. Can Kenny Guiton adequately lead the offense? Will the secondary be able to keep up with the recently (and creatively) named “Bear Raid” offense? Can Jordan Hall continue to play at an All-American level?
The Buckeyes (3-0) answered all of these in their 52-34 victory over the Cal...
By now, everybody is aware that Michigan Football picked up, what Taylor Lewan called an embarrassing 28-24 victory over Akron on Saturday. The Zips brought a 27 game road losing streak with them to the Big House and were inside Michigan’s five yard line with a chance to win the game as time expired. The narrow victory seemed to magnify Michigan’s short-comings.
So what’s the...
After one of its worst performances in the Big House, No. 15 Michigan is about to take its show on the road.
And Wolverines coach Brady Hoke is going to be staying up nights thinking about it.
''It's something I always worry about, and it is worse because we've got such a young team,'' Hoke said about this week's trip to East Hartford to face Connecticut...
Michigan coach Brady Hoke updates injury statuses heading into the weekend, addresses a potential shake up on the offensive line, and how junior punter Matt Wile is correcting his issues (VIDEO included).
With a goal line stance, Michigan beat Akron 28-24 in the final seconds. After the game, the Michigan locker room was deafening silent.
“This is embarrassing for the University of Michigan football team,” senior left tackle Taylor Lewan said. “We won the game. We’re 3-0. That’s great. But it was embarrassing.” That sums up the sentiment of the Wolverine Nation.
My record- 11-1 and 33-3 for the season. My best pick over the weekend was Arizona State beating Wisconsin 35-28 and the Sun Devils won 32-30…and they shouldn’t have….we’ll get to that in a minute. My worst pick was Penn State beating Central Florida…the Knights won in Beaver Stadium…so on to the breakdown.
Indiana-42 Bowling Green-10….CORRECT….The Hoosiers...
While it sounds too crazy to ever happen, try to imagine a world where conference scheduling issues kept Michigan and Ohio State from playing each other in football. Or North Carolina and Duke in basketball. Or... well, you get the point. It wouldn't be cool. At all.
Now imagine that same world, where Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer, Coach K and Roy Williams, or any other championship...
Let me start off by saying that because of an out of state trip that required 15 total hours in a van, I was not able to watch the Buckeye game live this past weekend. However, DVR is always a life saver and after a long weekend, I was able to catch up on some Buckeye football. Here are the plays that caught my eye in Ohio State’s win over Cal.
Kenny Guiton 90 yard TD pass to...
Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner is ready to play another game. Gardner talks about moving on from his performance against Akron, what the week of practice has been like, encouraging words from Johnny Manziel, and his take on the 8 p.m. kickoff (VIDEO included).
Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges isn’t panicking. Unable to find a true rhythm with the run or pass in the win over Akron, the long time coordinator discusses the competition and play of his offensive line, Devin Gardner’s mistakes and development, and the run game (VIDEO included).
Ohio State's Monday interview sessions are over, and BSB has some video of the conversations with Christian Bryant, Devin Smith and Kenny Guiton, who all talk about the win over Cal and look ahead to the game with Florida A&M.
