Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops had a few words to say about the critics of Sooner starting quarterback Landry Jones following the team's 30-13 loss to Notre Dame. None of which, needless to say, were very complementary. “People aren't very intelligent about football,” Stoops said. “I'm not criticizing them; it's not what they do. ... People, whatever occupation they are, it's just like me trying to do what they do. They'd probably scoff at that.” Stoops also took time to defend Jones, who failed to throw a touchdown pass in the game. “Landry's a great quarterback and had a heck of a night the other night,” Stoops said. “Without Landry, we're not in that game.” Landry gets a chance to redeem himself as the Sooners travel to Iowa State this coming Saturday.  (via The Oklahoman)
