Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly finally met with the media earlier today. He was due in yesterday, but got delayed with the medical process. He says nothing was wrong.  He checked out fine. The BC star, who won the Dick Butkus award as the nation’s top linebacker, is just looking forward to showing the scouts what he can do with his new body. If there’s been a knock on Kuechly, it’s that he’s not the biggest, strongest or fastest guy out there.  So he’s been working on bulking up and getting faster at IMG Football Academy in Florida in order to prepare for the combine, and impress the scouts even more. The 6-3 linebacker has put on some weight, going from his 237 playing weight at BC, up to 242, with the hope of not sacrificing any speed or quickness. ”One of the big things coming in, I had to prove I was a sufficient size,” Keuchly said. ”The biggest thing is being able to move with the weight you have. The Boston College softball team had its seven game winning streak snapped by Charlotte, 12-2, in the championship game of the 49ers Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Ronnie Mae Ayers went 2-for-2 and drove in one run for the Eagles (8-2). Classmate Chelsea LoBue drove in the other run for BC in the loss to the 49ers (8-5).

No. 19 Baseball Drops 8-7 Decision to Boston College

In another back-and-forth affair with Boston College, the No. 19 UCF baseball team was unable to come up with the series win in game two Saturday at the UCF baseball complex. The Eagles (4-1) added three runs in the top of the seventh and would go on to close out the game for an 8-7 victory over the Knights (4-2).

Baseball Loses a Heartbreaker to No. 19 UCF, 5-4

The Boston College baseball team battled No. 19 UCF to end, but lost, 5-4, in the bottom of the ninth at Jay Bergman Field on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles (4-2) had pulled ahead of the Knights (5-2) in their last at bat, but could not hold on, as UCF took two-of-three in the series.

The No. 13 Boston College (2-1) lacrosse squad earned a hard-fought, 12-10 victory against Hostra (1-2), in the Eagles' home opener on Saturday afternoon.
