Boston College running back Andre Williams is among the six finalists for the 2013 Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded to college football’s most outstanding player on Saturday, Dec. 14 in New York City. If Williams captures the award, he will be the first Boston College player to win the Heisman Trophy since Doug Flutie in 1984. The senior running back led all FBS players with 2,102 rushing yards, while also adding 17 rushing touchdowns and an impressive 6.7 yards per carry. This is also the first year since 1994 that six finalists will make the trip to New York. Here are the other five finalists: Heisman finalists: Jameis Winston - FSU Jordan Lynch - NIU Johnny Manziel - TAMU Tre Mason - AUB A.J. McCarron - ALA Andre Williams - BC—   (@SportsCenter) December 09, 2013 The three favorites are likely Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch and Williams. Winston is considered by many experts as the top candidate after leading the Seminoles to an undefeated season and a berth to the BCS national championship game against Auburn. He’s thrown for 3,820 yards, 38 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and has completed 67.9 percent of his passes. Winston is the No. 1 reason why Florida State’s offense has scored 35 or more points in 13 straight games. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel could become the first back-to-back Heisman winner since Ohio State legend Archie Griffin in 1974-75.Filed under: Boston College, College Football, Headlines, Nicholas Goss
