If you missed it this morning you can catch my entire season of ballots (Geno Smith! AJ McCarron!) right here and have a good laugh at my expense, or we can just pretend some of those never happened and move right into the final Heisman ballot of the season, featuring the three finalists who made the trip to New York. Let's count them down... 3. COLLIN KLEIN, QB, KANSAS STATE: A month ago Klein was a lock to win the Heisman, but he never really recovered from the mystery injury against Oklahoma State, and certainly never recovered from the loss against Baylor. Klein's impressive rushing stats never trailed off, but before the injury against the Cowboys he threw 12 TDs against only 2 INTs and was one of the most efficient QBs in the country. In his final three games he threw only 3 TDs against 5 INTs and had three of his four worst completion percentages of the season. Klein's personal debacle in a blowout loss to Baylor (3 picks and his lowest QB rating of the season)...

Collin Klein of Kansas State brought a hot blonde to the Home Depot College Football Awards

Collin Klein, the quarterback of the Kansas State Wildcats, made it to the Home Depot College Football Award show tonight along with Barrett Jones, Johnny “Football” Manziel, and Montee Ball. It seems Collin Klein brought a nice young blonde co-ed with him (who happens to be his wife). I guess that’s one of the perks of being a Maxwell & Davey O’Brien Award finalist and...

It was Manziel's night, but '12 still Klein's year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Before you weep for No. 7, we offer up this story: It's spring 2012, and Kristin Waller's voicemail is piling up. Waller is an academic counselor and life skills coordinator with the Kansas State athletic department, which means one of her major tasks is scheduling Wildcat players with the various charities and civic groups that have requested an appearance...

Steady Klein earned his trip to New York

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) Collin Klein is the Heisman Trophy finalist who fits no mold. He was lightly recruited out of high school and ultimately chose to attend Kansas State, a program that had fallen on hard times. He was turned into a wide receiver, and then went back to being a quarterback, where he sat on the bench and bided his time. It finally came last year, when he led the...

Kansas State and the Heisman

The Heisman and Kansas State don’t have much of a past together. For a while it looked like Wildcats senior quarterback Collin Klein might change that. He led the HeismanPundit/CBSSports.com Heisman Straw Poll for four weeks from mid-October until mid-November. If not for his team’s 52-24 debacle at Baylor, Klein would be giving the trophy [...]

Banks Of The Red Cedar Heisman Ballots

Ok, we here at BOTRC don’t actually have Heisman ballots. But if we did, here’s how we’d vote! Will 1.) Johnny Manziel Tim Tebow broke the SEC total-yardage record and got himself a Heisman as a sophomore (the first underclassman to win the trophy). In 2010, Cam Newton broke Tim’s record and was awarded that same trophy. Fast forward to 2012 and we have: Johnny Manziel a...
