The Brigham Young offense was one of the stoutest in the nation last season by finishing 14th in total yards per game. The Cougars had an exceptional rushing attack as well which finished 10th overall and prompted Texas to fire defensive coordinator Manny Diaz after BYU thrashed the Longhorns for 550 rushing yards en route to a 40-21 victory.  Coach Bronco Mendenhall has brought consistency to the program in Provo and his record of 82-34 puts him in the top 15 of current active head coaches for winning percent (minimum of five years). The future under Mendenhall looks bright as the program should build further on its past accomplishments. Quarterback Taysom Hill and running back Jamaal Williams is a returning tandem that will be difficult for defenses to hold down and both players eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards a season ago.
