Brigham Young Cougars quarterback Taysom Hill ran for 165 yards against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders on Friday night. That gave him 565 yards on the ground this season, and made him the most prolific quarterback, on the ground, in BYU history. That, however, may be just the beginning. Hill is on pace to do something much, much bigger this year. With 400 yards rushing in the first three games of this season, Hill only needed 75 yards to top Virgil Carter's 474 yards from 1965. Between Hill and Carter were Steve Young (407 yards, 1982; and 444 yards, 1983) and Brandon Doman (456 yards, 2001). Hill passed the 1982 Young total with on his second carry of the night--a 12-yard touchdown run. His total was now 414. Early in the second quarter, Hill was about to pass Young's 444 yard total as he tried to run the ball for a second touchdown from three yards away. After picking up just one yard, Hill fumbled.
