The storm clouds seemed to followe the Brigham Young Cougars back to Provo for game two, but the stormy play of last season and last week, was nowhere to be found as the BYU Cougars cruised to a 40-21 upset of the #15 Texas Longhorns.  After a two hour whether delay for the second straight week, BYU started the home opener determined and focused. Two things missingin the previous week’s loss. On the opening drive of the game, the Cougars  drove 60 yards down the field to the Texas 10 before a false start penalty stalled the drive. Still, Justin Sorenson kicked in a field goal to put the Cougars on the board first. Sorenson would go 4-for-4 on field goals for the night. Defense proved their mettle as well, forcing Texas to go 3-and-out on their first three drives of the game. Unfortunately, the BYU offense stalled as well during that time, moving the ball a little on their second drive, then going 3-and-out on the next two. On their fourth drive, Texas had good field pos...

Hill beginning to flourish in new BYU offense

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By PAT GRAHAM AP Sports Writer This isn't exactly the pass-happy BYU offense that Jim McMahon, Steve Young or Ty Detmer used to run. Instead, the school once known for producing prolific passers is relying on Taysom Hill's speed and split-second decisions in the read-option approach the Cougars have implemented this season. So far, there's little...

No. 15 Texas unable to stop BYU's running game

Texas gave the perfect lesson on how not to play run defense. The 15th-ranked Longhorns missed tackles, missed defensive assignments and allowed BYU to run the ball up and down the field at will. In the end, it added up to a school-record 550 rushing yards for the Cougars and a 40-21 loss for Texas on Saturday night. ''We didn't get done what we needed to do on either...
