NorthWest Sports Beat:
The scoreboard operator figures to be busy Saturday when California visits second-ranked Oregon, which has scored more than 50 points in each of its first three games. Golden Bears freshman quarterback Jared Goff leads the nation in passing at 435.3 yards per game, and he’ll need another strong effort to keep pace with the explosive Ducks.
Oregon has won four straight in the series, and the Golden Bears have only won two of their last 13 games in Eugene since 1980.
NWSB Preview: http://nwsb.co/j72lx

The Bear Raid is coming to Autzen.
New California coach Sonny Dykes and his re-tooled Golden Bears visit No. 2 Oregon with both teams coming off byes, giving them plenty of time to ponder what they might see Saturday night in the conference opener for both teams.
For Oregon, it will be Dykes' pass-happy offense led by freshman quarterback Jared Goff, who is making his first...
This is a new test for the Golden Bears! Two weeks ago, Cal squared off against number four ranked Ohio State. I predicted a Cal upset, which never completely unfolded. The biggest shocker was the number of points the Buckeyes hung on the Bears defense; but the fact that Sonny Dykes was able to put together a solid game plan was impressive. Cal was able to survive Ohio state’s...
If Cal quarterback Jared Goff has any jitters about his first start on the road, he sure isn't showing it.
Goff was cool about playing No. 2 Oregon in what is sure to be a raucous atmosphere at Autzen Stadium on Saturday night.
''Just a regular game in front of a bunch of crazy people,'' he said.
The freshman quarterback is having a sensational start to his...
1. In wet, windy weather, getting off to a good start is crucial. Very difficult to come from behind in poor conditions, and if the Ducks can bury the Bears early, they'll lose their will in unpleasant conditions. During the week Brian Jackson and Avery Patterson talked about making Jared Goff and his teammates uncomfortable. A strong start provides a sense of inevitability-...
Kaileb Rodriguez has been on Nevada’s radar for quite some time now —they started recruiting him when he was 15-years-old.
However, when California made its offer to Rodriguez about two years later, he simply couldn’t resist playing for a bigger program. It didn’t turn out so well because after a sour first semester with the Golden Bears, Rodriguez knew he had to transfer.
