The University of Louisville football team is still perfect after nine games but the Cardinals are not getting a ton of respect nationally. U of L coach Charlie Strong is using the respect card as motivation for his team.

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong is focused on Saturday’s game at Syracuse and not the BCS rankings. The Cardinals are ranked No. 9 in this week’s rankings and Strong was peppered with questions about it on Monday.
Might want to take it a little easy on the 10,391 people who didn’t show up at the University of Louisville-Temple football game Saturday.
The weather outlook for the game was dismal, as has been the case with the three most recent home games. Many of the absentees were probably still recovering from the soggy overtime win against Cincinnati.
The cold, damp and dreary script gets...
Following Louisville’s 45-17 win over Temple, senior cornerback Adrian Bushell talked about a video that was put together and shown to the team prior to the game. This video had clips of national media members not giving Louisville the same amount of respect as the other unbeatens.
Bushell says the team uses the lack of respect as motivation. When asked for how he’d respond...
Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein has vaulted to the top of the Heisman contenders, surprisingly to some. I ranked Klein 10th on the preseason Dynamic Dozen Heisman Contenders list in which I described him as a "Tim Tebow prototype on the football field"; a comparison coming up often lately in college football talk. I knew that his strong running dual threat ability...
If Louisville is playing with a chip on its shoulder, Cardinals coach Charlie Strong has to be pleased with the results.

Despite finally blowing out an opponnet, Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals reamin at No. 10 in week 11 of the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Cards have moved up one spot from 12-to-11 in the Associated Press Poll.
The updated BCS Ratings will be released later this evening. Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has released his predictions for the BCS ratings and has Louisville at No....
Jeremy Wright breaks loose for a 32-yard jaunt late to Temple’s 4 yard line in the third quarter, setting up Teddy Bridgewater’s fifth touchdown pass of the day, a nine-yarder to Andrell Smith (see video below) two plays later. Wright would rush for 100 yards in Louisville’s 45-17 win.

Although Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals have yet to lose a game this season, it hasn’t been pretty every step of the way. A few of the eight wins on the season have been ugly, which is fine by me. Beating certain teams in a more convincing fashion would’ve helped Louisville’s overall perception, but I suppose it doesn’t matter much when they’re No. 10...
Junior tight end Ryan Hubbell came through with a spark for the University of Louisville football team on Saturday, hauling in a 72-yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater in the first quarter. The TD by Hubbell was the Cardinal Authority Play of the Game in U of L’s 45-17 win over Temple.
Jody Demling of CardinalAuthority.com broke the news earlier this afternoon that the University of Louisville has lost their appeal with the NCAA in regards to the eligibility of freshman center Mangok Mathiang.
Mathiang was ruled ineligible by the NCAA clearing house in mid October. Louisville appealed the decision, but unfortunately the clearing house stood firm with their decision...
After Saturday’s win over Temple, Cardinal running back Jeremy Wright talked about the running game getting back on track and also discussed Louisville’s motivation to earn respect on the national level.
The Louisville – Syracuse game next Saturday has been set for a noon kickoff and will be televised by ABC. This will be Louisville’s fourth game of the season televised nationally by the ABC network.
Syracuse is 4-5 on the season and 3-2 in Big East play. The Orange are coming off 35-24 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. This week’s game will be their Senior Day.
