Photo By: USATSIIt is Monday Rebel Nation and we are bring back an article to you. Every Monday we will be given you the latest news in Ole Miss sports. We will pack these are articles full of headlines and links to get the beginning of your work week going.
I believe we can all agree that every Rebel fan is having a bit of the “case of the Mondays” this morning. It was a heartbreaking weekend for Ole Miss football. The Rebels lost their third straight SEC game. Even though the Rebels gave Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M a good run, it was still hard to watch the Rebels final possession and the reality kicked in when Johnny Manziel drove the Aggies down field to clinch the win in the final seconds of the game. Ole Miss’s schedule does not get any easier for them. Next Saturday, they will host yet another Top 10 SEC team, (6) LSU. The Rebels are now 3-3, 1-5 in SEC play, and are still looking to rebound their season.
Good news for Ole Miss’ Serderius Bryant, but still a concussion [SB Nation]
The SEC’s leading tackler, Ole Miss linebacker Serderius Bryant, suffered a serious head injury in the final minutes of the game Saturday. The report is that Serderius Bryant will be okay, but did sustain a concussion. There is no official report yet on how long Bryant will be out. The Rebels can only hope for a full and quick recovery, as Bryant is a key asset to the Rebel defense.
The Rebel defense is bleeding heavily after Saturday’s game due to injuries. 2013 overall number one prospect Robert Nkemdiche left the game in the first half, due to a hamstring injury. Mike Hilton, Issac Gross, Woodrow Hamilton also left the game injured. C.J. Johnson and Carlos Thompson had already been out. Major concerns are now on our defensive line, and how it will affect the team heading into the LSU game. There has been no official report (yet) on how long the injured players from Saturday’s game will be out.
Video: Hugh Freeze Argues With Ole Miss Fan After Loss, Won’t Acknowledge When Asked [College Spun]
The problem here is that the fan gets away with it, and Freeze will take the heat. I can only imagine what words were crossed, and I am sure it had to be something very offensive or threatening for Freeze to retaliate. Yes, Freeze should have just walked away, but no judgment should be placed on Freeze without knowing what was actually said. What College Spun failed to mention was that Hugh Freeze did, in some way, apologize and let the matter go.
@AustinSigl I love all our students and fans, everyone gets frustrated at times. Thank you and let's press on
