With just four or possibly five scholarships left in Louisville’s 2013 recruiting class, Charlie Strong spent some time in New Orleans, LA., today visiting with two under the radar prospects.
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned Corey Smith, a 6-foot-7 245-pound defensive end that had picked up an offer from Louisville. Smith’s teammate, Lyn Clark, a 6-foot 200-pound linebacker has also become a top target for Charlie Strong.
Smith and Clark we’re previously committed Tulane, but both have recently decided to re-open their recruiting earlier this week. The two prospects aren’t highly rated, but that hasn’t stopped Charlie Strong from making them a top priority. They’ve both seen their scholarship offer list rise in recent weeks.
Louisiana Tech and Louisville appear to be the leaders for Clark, but Kentucky is in the mix as well. Louisville, Kentucky and Arizona State are Smiths’ top three. They’ll both take official visits to Louisville on Feb. 2.
