Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals football team have high expectations entering the 2013 season. The Cardinals are coming off an impressive victory over the Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl and return nearly every key piece from that successful team. This includes Heisman hopeful quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The recent success of the program has undoubtedly been fueled by the great recruiting done by Strong and his staff. Although Louisville didn't have a player selected in the 2012 NFL Draft, they have many pro prospects eligible for future drafts, which obviously has many NFL franchises and agents alike licking their proverbial chops to get them. However, Strong sent a strong word of warning to agents on Tuesday. According to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated, Strong is threatening to eliminate access to players if agents try and contact his players during the season.“I will cut [the agents] off if they continue to contact them,” Strong said. “At the end of season, I will make sure you have no chance to represent our players. Not that I’m being arrogant, but I want to put a statement out there: You continue to mess with our players, this is what we’re going to do.”As an additional precaution, Strong has also instructed his players to report any contact to him or the director of football operations at Louisville.“I don’t want any contact until the end of the season,” Strong said. “We’re just trying to do it right. I don’t want [players] to feel like I’m keeping them from talking to an agent. But I don’t know why now, there’s nothing an agent can do for them now.”Whether Strong's warning keeps agents away from his players remains to be seen. But at least the fourth-year coach is attempting to do the right thing. And that should be commended in and of itself.Via Pro Football Talk
