ATHENS - Florida quarterback John Brantley told Will Muschamp after he suffered a sprained right ankle in a loss to Alabama on Oct. 1 that he “wanted to get back for Georgia,” the Gators coach said Monday.
Two days after losing sophomore TE Gerald Christian in a transfer, the Gators picked up a commitment from Land O’ Lakes prospect Kent Taylor. Taylor is ranked the No. 1 tight end in America by Rivals and Scout.
Taylor’s pledge pushes the Gators’ upcoming signing class to 17. They can sign 25 players next year.

Without the benefit of research or any real thought comes the quick look. This time around we look at an event formerly known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. If you want to be official, it’s the Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic, but few call it that (I have a t-shirt that ignores that name entirely). When he stopped by the Gators' practice facility over the summer, former Gator and current Philadelphia 76er Marreese Speights Tweeted a short video.
In the clip, Gators sophomore forward/center Patric Young caught passes off a bounce-back net and repeatedly turned and dunk, one after another in a matter of seconds. You could hear that Speights was impressed by his response in the video.
