Start 'Em

Montee Ball – Wisconsin vs. UTEP
Ball has been a major disappointment to fantasy owners through the early part of 2012. Things are not good in Madison, but a visit from the Miners could be just what the doctor ordered. This could be one of those 150 and 3 performances.
STAFF PICK – KEVIN MOUNT

Raymond Maples – Army vs. Wake Forest
Maples has back to back games with over 100 yards rushing to start this season and is the main ball carrier for the Army rushing attack. Army ranks 2nd in the nation in rushing offense and Wake Forest ranks 103rd in rush defense, the choice is clear.
STAFF PICK – KEVIN MOUNT

Mike Gillislee- Florida vs. Kentucky
The Gator offense is predicated on the run and if you recall, the Wildcats have given up copious ground yards to in-state foes Louisville (219 yards) and Western Kentucky (163) and even 182 yards from Kent State.  This game should get out of hand early but Gillislee should be good for 100+ yards and two score before being relocated to the sideline.

Shawn Southward- Troy vs. North Texas
Southward is the new focal point of the Trojan offense and what better arena to feature such a potent weapon than against a Mean Green team that is giving up an average of 163 yards on the ground.  I doubt Southward racks up another 200 yard game but he is a safe play this weekend.

Sit 'Em

Knile Davis –Arkansas vs. Rutgers
The Arkansas football program is a train wreck right now and Davis has fallen from fantasy stardom as well. He has not topped 70 yards rushing in any game this year and will be hard pressed to much against a stingy Rutgers defense that is giving up just 59 yards rushing per game.
STAFF PICK – KEVIN MOUNT

Kedrick Rhodes – Florida International vs. Louisville
Rhodes has been a major disappointment to fantasy owners so far in 2012. He has only scored once this season and has not hit 50 yards rushing in his last two contests. Facing a tough Louisville defense is probably not the best thing for his fantasy fortunes either.
STAFF PICK – KEVIN MOUNT, TODD DEVRIES

Duke Johnson- Miami vs. Georgia Tech
Johnson has, at times, been the only credible offensive weapon for the ‘u’ (lower case intended) but against a Ramblin’ Wreck squad giving up just 113 ground yards a game, he will likely be stifled.  Add to the fact that the Yellow Jackets offense will be on the field over half the game effectively muting the Duke’s chances to shine and you need no more reasons to sit him this weekend.
STAFF PICK - ERIK TJADEN

Jahwan Edwards- Ball State vs. USF
There are two reasons to site Edwards against the Bulls this weekend.  One reason is that South Florida is fielding a defense that is limiting opposing rushers to a measly 3.4 yards per carry.  The other reason is that after being taken behind the woodshed by Rutgers and Jawan Jamison, they are certain to not let another running back (especially one with the same-sounding first name) inflict that kind of damage to them.
