The Pac-12 today announced its Player of the Week awards in football for the 2013 season's opening week, as Colorado wideout Paul Richardson, Arizona safety Tra’Mayne Bondurant, and California kicker Vincenzo D’Amato all were honored for their impressive performances. Richardson, a junior from Los Angeles, enjoyed a breakthrough game after catching 10 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the Buff’s 41-27 season-opening win over Colorado State on Sunday.  Two of his receptions went for 75 yards or more, including an 82-yard touchdown reception from Connor Wood to open the game. It was Richardson’s first game back after missing all of the 2012 season rehabbing a knee injury, and at the very least, he demonstrated that he still has good speed and explosion.  The over-200 yard performance was the only one in the nation over the weekend and just the fourth in Colorado history. Richardson now owns two of those four efforts, with his first coming against Cal in 2011 (he set...

Colorado begins Mike MacIntyre era with 41-27 victory

Mike MacIntyre became only the third Colorado Buffaloes coach since 1931 to win in his debut. The Buffs opened the season with a 41-27 victory over in-state rival Colorado State in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. “First of all, I’m just excited for our seniors to start the

Richardson leads Colorado to 41-27 win over CSU

Greg Henderson scored on a 53-yard fumble return in the fourth quarter and Connor Wood threw three touchdown passes - two to speedster Paul Richardson - to help Colorado beat Colorado State 41-27 on Sunday in Mike MacIntyre's coaching debut for the Buffaloes. Wood often connected with Richardson, who was back on the field after missing last season because of a torn left ACL...

Richardson leads Colorado over Rams

Paul Richardson and Connor Wood would meet each day on the practice field last season, just to work on their timing in case they ever needed it. Back then, Wood wasn't playing much and didn't know if he ever would be the starter. Richardson was coming off a torn ACL and wasn't sure if he would ever return to his electric form. ''He had the time and I had the...

Week One All-Video Game Numbers Team

After each week during the college football season I usually put together an “All-Video Game Numbers Team”. It’s a fantasy formatted team (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, DST) compiled of FBS players that just put up ridiculous stats that week, whether they’re playing Alabama or Eastern Alabama A&M. Here’s the best of Week One. QB Derek Carr (Senior, Fresno State)...

Outside the Colorado Locker room

After each and every Colorado Football game, it will be BuffPlayBook's goal to bring you what the Buff Players have to say about the game. Go "Inside" to see some smiling faces and what Connor Wood, Paul Richardson, and true freshman Addison Gillam had to say.

Colorado State Football: Richardson and Co. too much for Rams

As those watching awaited a final obligatory fourth down measurement, Mike MacIntyre’s celebratory fist pumps gave Colorado State fans a final punch to the gut. It was 2006 when Colorado State was last favored to beat in-state rival Colorado. This was again the case prior to the matchup this past weekend, where the Rams were 2.5-point favorites. In what was the 85th meeting of...

A Will To Win

A Will to Win On a day in which wide receiver Paul Richardson became the first Colorado player to ever post a second 200-yard receiving game in a career … On a day in which quarterback Connor Wood became only the third Buff to pass for over 400 yards in a season opener (409 by Kordell Stewart in 1992; 402 by Joel Klatt in 2003, both against Colorado State) … On a day in...
