Someone told me yesterday was a huge day for college football.
What, I missed a big game?
Ugggh! It was just National Signing Day.
I guess I'm the rare college football fan who has no interest whatsoever in what happens on the first Wednesday of February every year.
So some physical freak of a wide receiver named Dorial Green-Beckham spurned a bunch of big-time programs to play for Missouri.
Yep, didn't care.
Now if he's playing in the fall for Gary Pinkel and actually makes an impact in the SEC, then I'll care.
Look, I get all of the excitement and speculation that comes with this big day. If your team signs a bunch of 4- and 5-star players then you think the future is set.
But is it really?
OK, LSU and Alabama are loaded with this type of talent and those two played for the BCS National Championship. However, 2011 also included programs like Florida and Notre Dame who had top 10 recruiting classes and the talent didn't live up to the hype.
