The South Carolina Gamecocks have been without quarterback Connor Shaw in practice this week due to a virus. Keep in mind that the virus had already set in when South Carolina played Missouri on Saturday, which resulted in Shaw staying out of the game until the third quarter. According to an AP report, it’s still unknown whether Shaw will play against Mississippi State:
South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said Shaw missed Monday’s practice and was unlikely to work out Tuesday as he recovers from the virus. He is questionable for Saturday’s game against Mississippi State.
Shaw is also still recovering from a knee injury, which was quite noticeable once he finally did enter the game against the Tigers.
Questionable for Connor Shaw is different than questionable for the average college football players. After watching Shaw pull off one of the gutsiest performances of the year against Missouri, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll be ready to go for this weekend.
