Cougs upset Dawgs 31-28. As all Washington Huskies fans will know…ugh…just ugh. Love ‘Em Kasen Williams One of the bright spots of the day was Kasen Williams’ eight catches for 83 yards. He consistently makes ridiculously athletic grabs and is very difficult to be brought down by just one defender. He almost always breaks the first tackle and gets extra yards after the catch. A great performance following a solid season. Shaq Thompson I haven’t given a specific shoutout all season to the truly outstanding Shaq Thompson who has been a big part of the new-look defense all season. As a linebacker, cornerback, safety, or truly wherever the team needed him, Thompson has been a stud week in and week out. His huge hit on Teondray Caldwell at the four yard line saved a touchdown for the Huskies. Erik Folk I sure miss this guy. I really, really miss this guy. Hate ‘Em Penalties All season, the Huskies consistently committed boneheaded penalties in games. Every week, Washington gave free yards to the opposing team. Every single week, I singled this out as one of the team’s biggest flaws, and warned that it would cost us in a big game. Well, it did. 18 penalties for 129 yards is obscene. Ridiculous. Unforgivable. It ties the school record for penalties in a game. Sark consistently failed to cut down on Washington’s penalties week to week. And it cost us Friday. There’s nothing else to say other than that the Huskies made stupid mistakes. And they paid the price. We had a 14 point lead and lost, to Washington State. Keith Price The O-line had injuries. There was no established running back coming into the season. Multiple experienced senior receivers graduated. These were the excuses I, and the rest of Husky Nation, had used to justify Keith Price’s poor performance on occasions. After a fantastic 2011 season, Price was picked by some as a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy. But throughout the year, Price has failed to come close to his 2011 form, and it’s finally time to assign him some blame. His decision making still needs major work. He coughs up the ball frequently when hit. Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Kasen Williams have made him look good. Quite simply, he has been mediocre all season.  Losing That. Was. Awful. We choked hard. Washington State SUCKS, in case it wasn’t obvious by their zero conference wins, or flurry of turnovers throughout the game. And we lost. The defense gave up and rolled over in the fourth quarter. Price was goddawful. We had a 14 point lead and lost, to Washington State. I really just don’t know what to think of this Husky team. Sometimes they have the pieces of phenomenal squad, and sometimes, they just suck. Now I have to endure a year’s worth of crap from my WSU friends. Let’s just forget this game ever happened, and focus on staying tough and playing smart in our bowl. There’s nothing more to say. CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE HUSKIES CLUBHOUSE PAGE AT NWSPORTSBEAT!
