The Cardinal Connect:
Charlie Strong introduced his 2013 recruiting class yesterday afternoon at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The Louisville program signed 16 players and appeared to be finished with the 2013 class. However, Stacy Thomas, a 4-star outside linebacker/defensive end from Gulliver Prep in Miami, FL., is set to make his decision next week and says he’ll decide between Louisville and Indiana.
Thomas, a 6-foot-1 233-pound prospect had offers from some of the top teams in the country heading into his senior season, but his interest level has dropped in recent months, due to an injury.
With Louisville not being able to land linebackers Jermaine Grace and Lamar Robbins, Stacy Thomas may be a last minute option for the Cardinals. Clint Hurtt had been actively recruiting Thomas a couple of weeks before signing day.
Thomas also played tight end and defensive end at Gulliver Prep. He’ll announce his decision at some point next week.
