After Oregon's 49-31 win over UCLA in the Pac-12 championship game Friday night, Ducks quarterback Darron Thomas did an interview with Fox and then decided to give a shout out — to Texas.
Instead of throwing up Oregon's signature two-handed "O" sign (see random fan in the background), Thomas put his index and pinky finger in the air to give Texas' "Hook'em Horns" sign.
Perhaps he read this New York Times article on what the "O" sign really meant.
Thomas is a Houston native and might have been giving a shoutout to his hometown. Or perhaps he really dislikes Baylor and was wishing Texas good luck in its game Saturday. Whatever the case may be, the hand gesture gaffe probably didn't endear Thomas to the thousands of Ducks fans that rushed the field after the win that sent them to the Rose Bowl.
