Double Coverage Football:
With a loss to Utah on their record, a shot at the Rose Bowl or National Championship Game on the line, and only one home win over the Ducks since 1996, Stanford didn't need any extra motivation before their Pac-12 North match-up with Oregon tomorrow night.
De'Anthony Thomas gave it to them anyway.
When asked how many points the Ducks should score against a Cardinal team that held them to 14 last season, Thomas responded, "This team, we should score at least 40."
Really, De'Anthony? At least 40? Against a Stanford team that has given up 40 points in regulation one time since 2009? If you say so, Black Mamba.
(scans box scores)
Oh...that "one time" was the 53-point beatdown the Ducks put on Stanford last time they travelled to Palo Alto? My bad dude. Maybe you've got a point after all.

Oregon may be third in the current BCS standings, but the Ducks are clear frontrunners yet again when it comes to college football fashion. It appears that the Ducks were granted another gift by Nike today — wide receiver Josh Huff just tweeted an awesome pair of custom Oregon sneakers: “fresh out the box.”

No. 2 Oregon and No. 5 Stanford may not kick off for a few more hours here, but fans are getting some trash talk in early. One Cardinal supporter came up with a pretty clever little GameDay sign ahead of tonight’s matchup. It’s a safe bet that it doesn’t get through security, however. The University of Oregon is the undisputed King of Swag. No one has stuff quite like they do. No matter what they (and by they I mean everyone but Oregon) come up with the Ducks will always have something better.
Like these new shoes the team just got...

The Oregon basketball team has suspended basketball players Dominic Artis and Ben Carter following a violation of NCAA rules. What violation was it? They sold exclusive shoes given to them by Oregon (Nike). They allegedly sold the sneakers over the summer along with three other former players.
Oregon actually self-reported the violation so there shouldn’t be anymore trouble...

EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon announced today that men’s basketball student-athletes Ben Carter and Dominic Artis violated NCAA rules by selling team-issued apparel over the past year.
