Found January 08, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
With just a few weeks left until college football’s national signing day, Charlie Strong and his staff are currently on the road trying to finalize their 2013 recruiting class. Corey Smith, a 6-foot-7 245-pound defensive end from New Orleans is the latest member of the 2013 class to pick up and offer from Louisville. Smith is rated as a 3-star prospect and is currently committed to Tulane. Don’t let the commitment to the Green Wave fool you. He has scholarship offers from Miami, Arkansas, Colorado, Texas A&M, SMU and Southern Mississippi. Two of Smith’s high school teammates are committed to Tulane which likely had something to do with his commitment. Louisville assistant coach Kenny Carter visited with Smith earlier this week and Louisville may be the school that can get him to flip his commitment. Smith is surprisingly quick for his massive size. He’s considered a project, but Smith’s upside is huge. Louisville is trying to bring him on campus for a visit before signing day.
