Louisville commit Detric Dukes, a 6-foot, 200-pound, linebacker from Tucker, GA., has been one of the more up and coming prospects in the 2014 class since giving Charlie Strong a verbal pledge in mid April. Unfortunately this could lead to bad news for Louisville.
In recent weeks Dukes has picked up scholarship offers from Georgia, Ohio State and Auburn. He’s currently rated as a three-star prospect, but you can expect that to change when the updated rankings come out.
At this point, Dukes is still committed to Louisville and is a member of Charlie Strong’s 2014 class. However, verbal commitments really don’t mean much these days. Dukes’ status is now considered to be a “soft verbal.”
Multiple national recruiting analysts are suspecting that the recent offer from Georgia could lead to a change in Dukes’ recruitment. Four of the 247Sports.com lead publishers are predicting that Dukes will flip his commitment from Louisville to Georgia at anytime.
