LOS ANGELES -- The youngsters would say USC defensive lineman George Uko has a new swag. He has a new walk. A new talk. Even a new look in his No. 90 USC uniform.
The most striking change in the redshirt junior's appearance is his facemask. It looks sort of like a basketball net, just nastier. A lot nastier.
In fact, nasty is exactly the word Uko likes to use when describing his play and the play of the USC defense.
Through two games the Trojans are 11th in the country in total defense, which is quite a turnaround from being 61st in the nation a season ago.
Uko is the leading sack artist on the team that's leading the country in sacks.
However, there's still more to come. Despite his stellar play to start the season, Uko says he's not impressed with what he's done through two games.
"I have a high standard for myself," he said.
