He follows Oregon running back LaMichael James, who announced last week that he would skip his final year of eligibility. Darron Thomas Decision 2012: Yeah, About That...

With just 24 hours left for college football underclassmen to declare for the NFL Draft, it’s actually been relatively quiet on the “dumb decisions” front. Most of the guys we expected to declare have (Andrew Luck, Trent Richardson, Mo Claiborne, Matt Kalil), with a few surprises electing to return to campus too (Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, Montee Ball). And of everyone who...

Adam Jude reported in the Register-Guard this morning that Chip Kelly met with Darron Thomas on Saturday one last time to try and talk him out of his decision to sign with an agent and turn pro. It was probably his most earnest recruiting visit of the winter. Now the Ducks have one more scholarship to give, and two very talented young quarterbacks will get their shot to lead a...

Last Saturday, Oregon football fans, still basking in the glow of the program’s first Rose Bowl victory since the Woodrow Wilson presidency, suddenly felt like wounded ducks. The news that star quarterback Darron Thomas had decided to leave the team for a chance to play in the NFL was more surprising than a Greg Oden All-Star appearance. Ducks fans expected this from LaMichael...

The Worst Of Divisional Weekend Vol.V

This weekend, Oregon Jr. QB Darron Thomas announced that he was leaving Eugene early for the NFL.  When I first heard of this, I scratched my head a lot.  Why?  He is a stick figure and has no chance in Hell of ever being a starter in the league?  Remember Dennis Dixon?  He was way better in college than Thomas and he barely dresses for games now.  Then Joe Schad reported that...
