Anthony Boone, the backup quarterback for the Duke Blue Devils isn’t exactly impressed with this year’s Louisville football team. Boone, a 6-foot 235-pound sophomore sent out this Tweet following Louisville’s win over Rutgers on Thursday night. Considering Boone is a student athlete at a prestigious academic institution like Duke, I would have assumed that he was knowledgeable of the history between Louisville and Duke’s football programs. The two schools were to meet four times between 2002 and 2009. Louisville beat the Blue Devils 40-3 in September 2002, but Duke opted out of the final three games, to be played in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Louisville’s athletic dept. claimed it struggled to find another team and received “little, if any, help from either Duke or the ACC” in finding a replacement. In a lawsuit filed in 2007, Louisville asked for $450,000 in damages and any additional damages the court saw fit, but were unsuccessful. Duke’s lawyers argued that the Blue Devils’ performan...
