Found October 05, 2013 on Waiting For Next Year:
“He’s really strict on defense. We have a young team, so he’s just trying to teach the guys the positions to be in so we can play the right way. He wants it done right. Like I said, we’ve got a young team, so it’s the first time where they may have a coach like that. He’s never going to change. That’s the way he coaches. I think he’s doing a great job.” – New Cavaliers forward Earl Clark on returning coach Mike Brown, per The News-Herald’s Bob Finnan. Clark, 25, played under Brown for the Los Angeles Lakers during the start of the 2012-13 season. Brown was fired and replaced by Mike D’Antoni after just five games. Last season, Cleveland finished 27th in defensive rating, often struggling to keep up with most squads on the defensive side. Brown brings back decades of defensive experience and these early comments are certainly promising as the Cavs hope to compete for one of the last available playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Regular season tickets went on sale this morning for the team at www.cavs.com. The team’s annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage is tonight at 5 p.m. The Cavs then begin preseason action on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena against the Milwaukee Bucks at 7 p.m. [Related: Everything you need to know about new Cavs forward Earl Clark]

Thoughts on debut of Jack, Clark and Bennett in Cavs Wine & Gold Game

I knew the Cleveland Cavaliers significantly upgraded their roster long before arriving at Baldwin Wallace for the 2013 installment of the Wine and Gold Scrimmage. What I walked out realizing, however, is just how talented and deep the Cavaliers now are as compared to the last three seasons.  The rosters who previously filled starting lineups with names like Jamario...

Anthony Bennett In Unique Situation As Top Overall Pick With Little Pressure

Mike Brown and the Cleveland Cavaliers expect the lack of pressure on Anthony Bennett will benefit all parties this season. For a No. 1 overall pick, Bennett is relatively unknown and will play with mild expectations. “I’m cool with it,” Bennett said. “I’m chillin’.” The Cavaliers have Tristan Thompson as the incumbent starter at power forward, while Anderson Varejao...
