That was the Ohio State Buckeyes 2012 season, one that could've ended with a Big Ten title and a National Championship game appearance had players before them and Jim Tressel not been idiots. Alas, Urb's 1st season in Columbus was the best it could possibly be.
A lot of that was thanks to a very talented and productive front seven, but as they enter 2013 that front seven is now a completely unknown entity and two-thirds of the linebacking Corp - a staple of any Ohio State and Urban Meyer coached team - are gone.
It's one of the biggest battles in Columbus this spring and if there isn't a feel of stability to the position group it could spell trouble for the now postseason ban free Buckeyes.
Linebacker has a rather significant history at THE Ohio State University to say the least and really I doubt any of you need a remin...

The mutual disdain between Mark May and Ohio State fans is well established. May takes every chance he gets to knock the Buckeyes and their fans down a peg or two on television, and every Ohio State message board, blog, and Twitter page has some space dedicated on it as to why they hate Mark May. It makes Charles Barkley's little dustup with the Big Ten look like an international...
With every coach trying to one-up the other on Student Appreciation Days at spring practice, it seems we get a YouTube clip every day.
Now Ohio State mascot Brutus is getting into the action and in a way that he might regret (and avoid in the future).
Dude got laid out.
Deshaun Thomas had a decision to make, but it really wasn't much of one.
The time is right for Thomas to leave Ohio State and try the NBA. Thomas knew that. Presumably, those he talked to while finalizing his decision agreed.
Thomas never met a shot he didn't like, and it's time he gets paid to shoot them.
The 6'7 Thomas has an NBA body and an NBA mentality,...
With a storied tradition like Ohio State's, it's tough to pick some of the Buckeyes' most memorable games.
But let's start at the 1984 Fiesta Bowl when the Buckeyes took on Pittsburgh when the Panthers still mattered.
Leading most of the game, the Buckeyes still had to rally to take down the John Congemi-led Panthers. Pitt scored 16 points in the fourth quarter...
Ohio State added another piece to their 2014 class today, securing a commitment from Cleveland St. Ignatius four-star linebacker Kyle Berger. Why did he choose the Buckeyes over several other major offers? It came down largely to the men who would be coaching him.
Nobody said being a mascot was easy. You have to walk around in a hot, furry costume that smells like feet and cheese, wear an oversized head that...
Ohio State has received a commitment Monday afternoon from Cleveland St. Ignatius linebacker Kyle Berger, giving the team seven commits in its 2014 class. Berger joins Sam Hubbard as Buckeyes to commit this weekend.
The commitment of Kyle Berger to Ohio State was certainly not unexpected, but Michigan made a run at the four-star linebacker. In the end, Berger decided to pledge to the Buckeyes. What is Ohio State getting with Kyle Berger?
Ohio State commit Damon Webb, a junior cornerback from Detroit Cass Tech, recaps what he saw in practice and how his talks with other recruits went.
Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek defensive tackle Chris Williams has seen his recruitment take off in recent months, and the three-star prospect is nearing double-digit offers. Williams holds an offer from Ohio State, and he visited the Buckeyes recently.
