This week for my weekly feature at SB Nation Seattle I examined the popular opinion of fans who want defensive coordinator Nick Holt fired. While the Husky defense has been terrible this season, I don't think we can objectively say as fans that all of this is Holt's fault. At the same time, Holt needs to take some of the blame, and he didn't do that in his post-game comments to reporters on Satruday. "You can't fire the players, but you can fire the coach" — these are words to remember when considering Holt's job security after this season.

"65 points don't happen unless your defense gives up. And I think Washington's defense did give up on Saturday. Holt should be directly held accountable for his unit's lack of motivation. If some players are giving up, other players should play in their place."
