There are some things you see that truly make you wonder how an athlete got accepted into college. Take for instance what happened with a couple of Florida International football players.
FIU defensive back Demarkus Perkins tweeted about taking one of the program’s recruits to a strip club. He even tweeted with teammate Isame Faciane about it:
I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to analyzing how dumb this was.
First off, you’re not supposed to take recruits to a strip club if you’re trying to abide by NCAA rules. I get that not everyone is following the rules, so stuff like this is to be expected. But man, how dumb do you have to be to actually tweet about it? Apparently these youngsters don’t understand that Twitter is a public medium and that tweeting about something is like telling reporters about it. Don’t these guys have instant messenger or text messaging capabilities when they want to reminisce about stuffing $20 bills in Heather, Hope and Tiffany’s g-strings.
No surprise both players have deactivated their accounts.
