Found October 30, 2013 on Sports Injury Alert:
The injuries continue to pile up for the Florida Gators, as the team has now lost left tackle D.J. Humphries for 2-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL in his left knee. While Humphries should return within a month, this doesn’t help a Florida team that has already lost eight players this season to season-ending injures. According to report by Robbie Andreu of Gatorsports.com, Humphries’ injury occurred in Monday’s practice: “D.J. Humphries sprained his MCL at practice Monday and he’ll probably miss two to four weeks,” Muschamp said on the SEC coaches’ teleconference. “He’s a quick recovery guy.” Muschamp said it is not the same knee that Humphries sprained in the Toledo game. Humphries came out of that game, but was able to play on a limited basis the following week against Miami. This certainly isn’t good news for quarterback Tyler Murphy, as he was sacked six times in Florida’s most recent game against Missouri. Florida simply hasn’t been able to get any type of consistency going on eith

Florida Gators football: SEC East hopes still alive

The Florida Gators football team enters this weekend’s matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs unranked, but not without hope. The winner of this week’s Florida-Georgia game will still have a chance (however slim) in the SEC East race, while the loser’s season will be over for all intents and purposes. So while some out there may be thinking this game is lacking in its usual luster...

Patton wants revenge on Georgia

Saturday means more to Solomon Patton than most of the other players on the team. The Gators have plenty of motivation. They’ve lost two straight games to Georgia, and both teams remain in the SEC East race heading into Saturday. For Patton, the motivation is different. The Georgia game was when he broke his arm and saw his season end last fall.

Gators face challenge to slow Gurley

The Gators have built a dominant defense over the last two years because of their ability to stop the run. In the last two games, that has taken a step back. Florida was gashed for 175 rushing yards by LSU and 205 rushing yards by Missouri. With a bye week to fix the holes in the middle of the defense, Florida defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin is confident it will improve on Saturday.

Fowler: We still have a chance

Of the few bright spots in the Florida Gators recent play, one has been starting BUCK Dante Fowler. On a team riddled with injury and bad performance almost all around, Fowler played very well against Missouri two weeks ago and helped keep the Gators close going into the fourth quarter. He knows there is a lot to work on, but glad they still have a chance of getting to Atlanta.
