Sports Injury Alert:
The injuries continue to pile up for the Florida Gators, as the team has now lost left tackle D.J. Humphries for 2-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL in his left knee. While Humphries should return within a month, this doesn’t help a Florida team that has already lost eight players this season to season-ending injures. According to report by Robbie Andreu of Gatorsports.com, Humphries’ injury occurred in Monday’s practice:
“D.J. Humphries sprained his MCL at practice Monday and he’ll probably miss two to four weeks,” Muschamp said on the SEC coaches’ teleconference. “He’s a quick recovery guy.”
Muschamp said it is not the same knee that Humphries sprained in the Toledo game. Humphries came out of that game, but was able to play on a limited basis the following week against Miami.
This certainly isn’t good news for quarterback Tyler Murphy, as he was sacked six times in Florida’s most recent game against Missouri.
Florida simply hasn’t been able to get any type of consistency going on eith

The Florida Gators football team enters this weekend’s matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs unranked, but not without hope.
The winner of this week’s Florida-Georgia game will still have a chance (however slim) in the SEC East race, while the loser’s season will be over for all intents and purposes. So while some out there may be thinking this game is lacking in its usual luster...
Saturday means more to Solomon Patton than most of the other players on the team. The Gators have plenty of motivation. They’ve lost two straight games to Georgia, and both teams remain in the SEC East race heading into Saturday. For Patton, the motivation is different. The Georgia game was when he broke his arm and saw his season end last fall.
The list of college basketball players facing suspension just keeps growing and growing. Today, Florida head coach Billy Donovan, announced that Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris have been added to that list citing an unspecified violation of team rules. Both players have been suspended for an indefinite amount of time. They will join a long list of players that will...
Devin Robinson, a consensus 2014 five-star recruit, committed to the Florida Gators over Indiana, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
No. 10 Florida will start the season with three players suspended.
Coach Billy Donovan says big men Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris have been suspended indefinitely, joining point guard Scottie Wilbekin on the sideline.
All three players are being punished for an undisclosed violation of team rules. They won't play in Friday's exhibition game against Florida Southern...
Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan announced that forward Dorian Finney-Smith and forward/center Damontre Harris have been suspended indefinitely.
The Gators have built a dominant defense over the last two years because of their ability to stop the run. In the last two games, that has taken a step back. Florida was gashed for 175 rushing yards by LSU and 205 rushing yards by Missouri. With a bye week to fix the holes in the middle of the defense, Florida defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin is confident it will improve on Saturday.
Of the few bright spots in the Florida Gators recent play, one has been starting BUCK Dante Fowler. On a team riddled with injury and bad performance almost all around, Fowler played very well against Missouri two weeks ago and helped keep the Gators close going into the fourth quarter. He knows there is a lot to work on, but glad they still have a chance of getting to Atlanta.
Florida coach Billy Donovan has reinstated forward Dorian Finney-Smith, although he's unlikely to play Saturday against Arkansas-Little Rock because of an illness.
Donovan made the announcement Friday, adding that point guard Scottie Wilbekin and center Damontre Harris remain suspended indefinitely.
Donovan adds Harris is no longer practicing with the team because he's...
The Gators Football team travels to Jacksonville this Saturday for the big Florida Georgia showdown. After talking with players, Cody Jones and Amanda Wood get you caught up on what to look for this Saturday.
The Gators threw multiple freshmen on the mound Tuesday in an eight-inning scrimmage.
Florida will play its exhibition game on Friday night against Florida Southern with only six scholarship players. The laundry list of injuries combined with three suspensions left head coach Billy Donovan without an expected starting lineup on Thursday. The Gators aren’t sure how many players they’ll have for the season opener on November 8.
