GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- University of Florida defensive lineman/linebacker Ronald Powell announced on Monday that he will forego his final year of eligibility with the Gators' football program and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
"Ronald has informed me that he has made a decision to declare for the NFL Draft," said head coach Will Muschamp. "This hasn't been an easy decision for him. I talked to him several times over the Holidays, but it was important for him to come back and look me in the eye and tell me what he wanted to do and why he wanted to do it.
"It's one of the great experiences as a coach to watch young players mature. It's been well documented the hardships he has had to overcome and he has always kept a positive attitude. I wish him the best of luck and, as I've said before, I encouraged him to return to get his degree."
Powell, who missed the 2012 season due to injury, returned to full strength in 2013 and played in 11 games with ei...

Tim Tebow made his debut as a college football analyst for ESPN on Monday morning and I have to say that I was generally impressed by the former Florida Gators great.
Tebow will be joining the BCS National Championship broadcast for his debut before becoming a focal point of the new SEC Network’s Saturday College Gameday style show.
He seemed a tad bit nervous, but for the most...

The Gators open Southeastern Conference play on Wednesday night while trying to forget what happened last season, especially against the Gamecocks. The Gators moved up two spots to No. 10 in the latest Associated Press college basketball poll Monday. This time, coach Billy Donovan believes his team is more deserving of the lofty ranking.

Pat Narduzzi is both the new head coach of Louisville and a future candidate for the Florida Gators, according to his Wikipedia page.
Billy Donovan didn’t like the way the first half was going for his senior point guard. The Florida offense lacked ball movement, falling on the shoulders of Scottie Wilbekin. When the Gators got back into the locker room at halftime, Donovan didn’t hold back with his frustrations. He challenged Wilbekin to play better in the second half, and the senior delivered.
The University of Florida starts classes on Monday and seven prospects from the 2014 class are expected to show up early and before signing day, allowing them to be eligible for spring ball. The Gators have used this as an advantage for many years now and seem to always have a hand full or more prospects that take advantage of graduating high school early.
Billy Donovan talks about it all the time to players, to coaches and to the media. The success of a team comes from its scars. It’s the reason he builds the Florida program the way he has in recent years. The veterans are always an important part of the team’s success, and it’s no more apparent than this season, as Florida heads into conference play with a starting lineup of four seniors.
