N.C. State quarterback Mike Glennon found wide receiver Bryan Underwood with 16 seconds to go for a touchdown to tie the score at 16-all with number three ranked Florida State.

A Niklas Sade point-after attempt was good and eventually gave the Wolfpack the upset over the Seminoles, 17-16.

THE GOOD: Defense

N.C. State maintained a 'bend, but don't break' mentality throughout the game and even though they gave up 16 first-half points, their defense pitched a shutout in the second-half. Florida State quarterback, EJ Manuel struggled with crowd noise, especially on third downs, where the Seminoles were 3-15.

Florida State's defense was very good as well, as they forced many three-and-outs from the Wolfpack offense throughout. The Seminoles held the Wolfpack rushing attack to just 66 yards and were content on making Glennon beat them (which he did).

THE BAD: EJ Manuel

For someone that is supposed to be the leader of one of the 'best' teams in the country, Manuel did not impress in this road matchup. He finished the game going 17-of-29 for 218 yards with one touchdown and one interception and for a guy who supposedly uses his legs well to gain extra yards he ended with a net total of -16 rushing yards on eight attempts.

THE UGLY: Florida State playing not to lose, instead of win.

When Florida State went into the half with a 16-0 lead it looked as though they were satisfied with their effort and were just going to sleepwalk through the second half and get out of Carter-Finley with a victory. The Wolfpack however, were the more aggressive team on offense and defense in the second half, and attacked the poor gameplan called by the Jimbo Fisher coaching staff.

Too many times the Seminoles called screens to their running backs and wide receivers and the N.C. State defense was having none of it. Late in the game on a critical third-down-and-long attempt, when Florida State was still up, they let EJ Manuel run a quarterback sneak to the left where he was stuffed instead of trying to air it out. It was a questionable decision to everyone watching and head-scratching all night for fans and media who thought that Florida State was actually a national title contender.
