The Miami Hurricanes braved weather elements in South Florida but did get in their first practice in preparation for Saturday’s noon kickoff versus the rival Florida Gators team today in Coral Gables.  The post practice interviews were delayed, then moved inside for safety from lightening concerns. CaneInsider reported on our “private” INsider board (an unpublished report) that wide receiver Rashawn Scott would be out 4-6 weeks with a broken collarbone.  When asked about the injury to Rashawn, Al Golden said after hesitation that it was a ‘shoulder’ injury and that Scott definitely wouldn’t play this week and will be out for a while. Miami Hurricanes vs Florida Gators: Al Golden talks showdown in South Florida

Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden talks the upcoming showdown against the Florida Gators.

Heaven help us, this Miami Hurricane fan mixed a Bane mask with an Al Golden Tie

Yes, this Miami Hurricane fan decided to mix the character Bane from The Dark Knight Rises with Al Golden (who is the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes). It seems the end of times is near y’all. The Florida Gators take on the Miami Hurricanes for “The Battle of The Seminole War Canoe” which never made sense to me. Florida is a 3 point favorite over UM and the game is at Miami’s...

Hurricanes Enter Coaches Poll for First Time Since 2010

The Miami Hurricanes are now ranked by the USA Today Coaches Poll, entering the rankings for the first time this week since November 2010.  The No. 24 Hurricanes were elevated to Top-25 status by the coaches who vote weekly on the best teams in college football.  The Hurricanes fell just short (eight points) of being ranked in both polls, finishing as the leader in the “others...

Fightin' Gators insights into the Toledo game

The Florida Gators finished game one of what they hope to be an exciting 2013 season. There were certainly some fun things to watch on Saturday in the 24-6 win over Toledo and there were also some things we would have liked to see. RB Matt Jones to return to Gators against Hurricanes

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- No. 10 Florida will have running back Matt Jones back against Miami. Coach Will Muschamp says Jones, who missed the last month while recovering from a viral infection, will play Saturday. The sophomore is listed as the starter on the team's updated depth chart. Muschamp says the Gators "feel pretty good about his progress. As we work through the...

The Hurricanes, who will play their second of nine games inside the state of Florida this weekend, are set to host the Florida Gators on Saturday. The players are excited.

Will Muschamp Rants About ‘Inaccurate’ Media Reporting (Video)

Will Muschamp got a little sensitive over “inaccurate” reporting about his team. What was the huge deal that cause this rant? On Friday night, the Palm Beach Post, Gator Country, and the Gainesville Sun all reported that Loucheiz Purifoy, Darious Cummings, Latroy Pittman, Quinteze Williams, Antonio Morrison, and Jay-nard Bostwick were suspended for the game. So six Gators were...

Will Muschamp 'pissed off' at local media for inaccurate report

Prior to Florida's 24-6 victory over Toledo on Saturday, the Gators suspended four players for the season opener due to an undisclosed violation of team rules. Several local media outlets reported that freshman defensive lineman Jay-nard Bostwick was among the players the Gators suspended for the game. The only problem with this information is the fact that it wasn't true...

Notebook: Gators healthy after season opener

Saturday went exactly how the Gators wanted, coming out with a win over Toledo in the season opener and a clean bill of health. Florida will return four suspended players this weekend and return starting running back Matt Jones, who has recovered from a viral infection. The Gators are unsure how many carries Jones will be able to handle during Saturday’s noon kickoff at Miami.

Showers with a quick transition

Usually a move to the other side of the ball for a player is out of necessity or maybe a wild shot at finding a better home for a player. For the Florida Gators who were looking to add a little bit of speed in the backfield, moving Valdez Showers from safety to running back seems to be one of those golden moves that may really surprise.
