Fox Sports South:
For two of the nation's top-rated prospects, the recruiting process is over.
Five-star linebacker Reuben Foster and five-star running back Alex Collins made their announcements on FOX Sports South's The NEW College Football Show: Next Class 2013, with Foster committing to Alabama, while Collins is Arkansas-bound.
"You know I have to do it for my family," Foster of Auburn (Ala.) High School said with his family surrounding him "... I will be attending the University of Alabama."
"I would like to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Arkansas," Collins of South Plantation (Fla.) High School said.
Foster, Scout.com's second-ranked player and the top-rated linebacker picked from a group of finalists of Alabama, Auburn and Georgia and adds to another top-10 class from Nick Saban and Co.
"I've been loving Alabama since I was a pup, man," Foster said.
The Crimson Tide have received verbal commitments from four other five-star prospects in defensive end Jonathan Allen, wide receiver Robert Foster, running back Derrick Henry and tight end O.J. Howard.
The 5-foot-11, 207-pound Collins, who ran for 1,253 yards and 14 touchdowns on 140 carries as a senior, joins new Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema, who brings his run-heavy attack to Fayetteville.
"I like the fact that they run the ball and I personally know the coaches, I've been recruited by them for two years now," Collins said. "I think I can trust them. I feel like that they can get me to where I want to be, the next level athletically and academically."
Foster's decision brings and end to recruiting process filled with twists and turns.
He made several visits to Alabama during his junior year and Foster committed to the Crimson Tide in July 2011 while playing for Troup County High School in Georgia. But shortly after transferring to Auburn High School in April 2012, Foster held a press conference announcing that he was changing his commitment to nearby Auburn.
But Foster would re-open his recruitment after assistant coach Trooper Taylor was not retained by the Tigers following the firing of Gene Chizik.
Collins was initially a Miami commit but reopened his recruitment in December and made official visits with the Hurricanes and Arkansas before making his decision.
Collins is the first five-star to join a Razorbacks class that began the day ranked 54th in the nation.
