This is a big money game if you ever saw one. A big money game for Bethune-Cookman that is.Just like Akron last week, who got a check to play Michigan, the Wildcats come to Tallahassee to fact a red-hot FSU team that destroyed Nevada.Somehow, I don’t see this game like Akron’s near defeat of the Wolverines. In fact, this might be worse than the drubbing the Seminoles placed on Savannah State last season (and maybe the Wildcats will pray for rain in this one as well).I am not sure which is more impressive when we talk about Jameis Winston - the fact he only has five incomplete passes in two games, or the fact he has more touchdown passes (6) than those incompletions. Whatever the case, look for the Seminoles to accomplish a few things in this game - a primer for Boston College and then Clemson in the ACC’s biggest showdown of the year. The Seminoles must continue to improve on defense, where they were sluggish the last two weeks at the start of each game, and must develop more on offense in preparation for Clemson, not so much the Eagles next week. The Wildcats are coming off a 34-13 win over Florida International last week and look to build on that success. Trust me, it will not come against the Noles. This game will be over early and could be a bigger loss (77 points) than the Savannah State game. It is not impossible to think the Noles can put up 84 points in their high-powered offense.I hope the money BCC got for this game was well worth it.FSU 70 BCC 3Here are three things to look for in this game.It will end very earlyI suspect the first quarter will be ugly. There is such a thing as a running clock used in high school sports. Maybe the two sides should agree to that once Winston shows off his arm and his legs. The redshirt freshman could throw six touchdowns in the first half and then take a seat. Then, we get to see what Jacob Coker can do. Should the need anyone else, they probably could take the second chair drum major from the Marching Chiefs and give him a set of pads and a football and see what he could do.Run, run awayThe Seminoles have been using a running game by committee this year and it has been a most successful game plan. We should see more of it this week as well.FSU was able to rack up over 600 yards of total offense last week. Florida State finished with 377 yards on the ground in Saturday’s victory over Nevada with 110 coming from Karlos Williams, a converted safety, who also added a touchdown in his first game at tailback. Devonta Freeman rushed for 109 yards and a score for FSU in Saturday’s victory as well. And just so you know, Bethune-Cookman whipped Florida International behind 311 yards rushing. This could be the fastest game in college football should both teams abandon the passing game.Fodder for practiceBethune-Cookman will become the third school that Florida State has played from the FCS in the last two seasons. FSU defeated both Murray State and Savannah State last year by a combined 124-3 margin. In eight matchups against FCS schools since 2005, Florida State has outscored its opponent by a combined 441-45 margin. That’s an average score of 55-6 if you are keeping score at home.Oh and in case you were wondering, BCC is undefeated as of now at 3-0. They have never gotten off to a 4-0 start in the school’s history. That is something that will not happen this weekend at The Doak.
