Florida State starting cornerback Greg Reid was arrested on Tuesday night on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
I am aware that Greg has been charged and will gather all the information before I determine what course of action to take, FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said in a statement released by the school.
Reid, 21, a Valdosta, Ga. native, was stopped Tuesday night near his hometown by a Georgia State Patrol trooper, spokesperson Gordy Wright said. Reid was driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis and was stopped because of window tint and seat belt violations.
Wright said that the trooper took inventory of items in the Grand Marquis and a suspected marijuana joint was located in a cup holder.
Reid was charged with possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), driving while license is suspended or revoked, and a seat belt violation. He was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and bonded out.
