UGA DB, Branden Smith. Photo Credit: David Manning At this point many have already heard the report about Georgia Bulldog starting cornerback Branden Smith being arrested for marijuana possession while on his way to spring break. 

According to a report by Rickey Stokes of RickeyStokes.com, Smith was pulled over late Sunday night by a Henry County Sheriff's deputy and was asked to step out of the car after the deputy smelled what turned out to be marijuana coming from the car's interior.
"...Henry County Sheriff Deputy Paul Motzenbecker made a traffic stop on Highway 431 on a 2007 Dodge Charger. The vehicle was southbound. At the time of the traffic stop Deputy Motzenbecker smelled what appeared to be marijuana from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and the vehicle searched. On searching the vehicle the deputy found a bag of marijuana wrapped up under the seat of the vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested and booked into the Henry County Jail for Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor offense. The time of the arrest was about 11:41 PM tonight." While most will be relieved to know that Smith's passenger was not a fellow teammate, it is troubling to note said passenger, named Danze Woods, found himself in the exact same trouble only one week prior—in the exact same place no less.

You can bet that Smith will be punished likely suspended by coach Richt for this costly error in judgment. However, with starting safety Sanders Commings already out for two games, it doesn't bode well that Smith too will now be unavailable. 

Suddenly, that strong secondary is looking quite scary to the eye and Georgia can ill-afford to lose any more warm bodies from the depth chart due to questionable/downright stupid actions of their players. 

I'm sure more will be revealed about this story as the week progresses but hopefully it ends here and nothing more disturbing comes to light—particularly regarding Danze Woods (the story didn't state how much marijuana was found under the seat, but if Woods was headed to the beach as a distributor and Smith was a knowing accomplice, things could get sticky).

This is not a good way to start the week, that's for sure, but hopefully the bad boy behavior ends here.
