Georgia is doing all they can to make certain they won’t have to fret about depth at running back for years to come. Where last season saw thin options, this season is already looking a whole lot better with a more mature Isaiah Crowell, a more determined Ken Malcome, and a bevy of incoming talent in both Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley—both of whom will have their chance to  compete for carries this summer. Add to that, the current verbal commitment of 2013 stud Derrick Henry, and the full-court press on guys like Alvin Kamara, and Tyson Dye, and you have a program that has made a real commitment to bringing the quality of its depth chart to something a whole lot more respectable than it was last season. Because, if 2011 showed us anything, it’s that little can be taken for granted where quality is concerned. Suspensions, attrition, injuries, and transfers have taken their toll on Georgia over the years and last year was no different as fans had to endure the play—albeit honorable—of guys like Brandon Harton (a walk-on) and Carlton Thomas (an undersized back who was, truthfully, ill-suited to play every down).
