Listen, this whole Franklin/Grantham fiasco is turning into more of a he said/he said battle of who's got more machismo. Frankly, I don't give a flip anymore if James Franklin felt that he was disrespected. He put his toe in the water and found a shark willing to bite it off. Perhaps he didn't like that and now sees fit to throw Grantham under the bus as the wrongdoer—your guess is as good as mine on that one.

That said, it was very manly of him to go whining speak to coach Richt about a fracas he set off in the first place.

AGAIN, for the record, I don't feel Franklin had any business undressing a player on the football field after the game was over. If he felt like Shawn Williams was out of line, he should have gone over to Grantham or Richt—calmly—and spoken about it to them at that time. The whole walking across the field jawing in the direction of said player, pointing and what-not was unprofessional on Franklin's part.

Even more, while I've already stated that Grantham is expected to exhibit more restraint when placed in such pressure-soaked situations, I cannot say that I disagreed with Grantham's sticking up for his player. He did the right thing but, unfortunately for him, he chose a method that wasn't so well-received by the masses.

Either way, I'm still not willing to allow James Franklin's behavior to go unchecked—even though so many other outlets are doing just that.

Side note: isn't it funny how Grantham's act is considered a "disgrace" while Franklin's is considered honorable because he's "changing the culture" at Vandy? Talk about a difference in perception.
